Frequently Asked Questions

Please contact me if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Not exactly. It is not medically advisable to receive treatments like Botox injections if you answer "yes" to any of the questions listed below.

  • Are you pregnant or breastfeeding?
  • Are you trying to become pregnant?
  • Are you on an anticoagulant (blood-thinning) medication?
  • Are you on an aminoglycoside antibiotic such as gentamicin, amikacin, tobramycin, neomycin, or streptomycin?
  • Do you have a muscle or nerve disorder such as Lou Gehrig's Disease (ALS), myasthenia gravis, or Lambert-Eaton Syndrome?
  • Have you ever had an allergic reaction to a botulism toxin?
  • Do you have a history of swallowing problems or inhaling food or liquids into your lungs?
  • Have you received a neuromodulator (Botox, Dysport, Jeuveau, or Xeomin) in the past four months? (That wouldn't automatically disqualify you, but we would need to discuss your options.)

Results generally last 3 to 4 months depending on the area being treated.

People are sometimes hesitant to consider anti-aging injectables because they assume the injections will be painful. The needle I use to administer the muscle relaxant is so small that it usually does not cause discomfort. However, clients who are anxious or hypersensitive may request a topical numbing agent before the treatment.

I take a layered approach to dermal filler treatments. The initial treatment establishes a base, and then you return in a few months for a follow-up injection to build on that base. Depending on the product we use, the gel-like material typically lasts anywhere from 6 to 12 months, with lips being closer to 6 months.

Several factors can influence how long a filler lasts, such as the area treated, the amount of filler used, or your individual metabolism.

Due to the product's viscosity and sensitive nerve endings in the areas that are treated with dermal fillers, I use a topical numbing agent on the area prior to injection.

I accept cash, check, or Venmo. I do not accept debit or credit cards.
